Filling out a comment

In order to post a comment on fishlab.com, you must fill out thee fields:

  • Name: You must use a name or nickname for commenting. Business names, website names or similar will be removed.

  • Email: A valid email is required. Emails are not published on the blog or shared. They are used to automatically screen for spam.

  • Comment: Write out the comment you wish to leave here.

Comment Removal

We want comments to be as useful as possible to all of our readers. While we keep 99% of comments, we will remove these:

  • Harassing comments: While conversation and the sharing of different ideas is encouraged, all comments need to be respectful towards our contributors and those leaving comments.

  • Promotional comments: If a comment is solely promotional in nature, we will remove it from the site.

  • Unrelated comments: Comments should be at least loosely related to the page that it appears on. Any comment that does not add to the conversation or runs off on an inappropriate tangent may be removed.

  • Personally Identifiable comments: In cases where comments disclose personally identifiable information of either you or someone else, it will be removed.

Why isn’t my comment appearing?

All comments are held in moderation until manually approved by one of our staff.

Comments are screened to ensure they comply with our comment policy and, once approved, will appear on the website.

Comments are approved daily.

Please note, we use an automatic spam detector to filter out advertisers and other junk comments – so that we don’t have to see it.

Very rarely this system will mark a readers comment as spam. If your comment has not appeared after 48 hours and abides by the terms set out in this policy, then it’s possible that your comment has incorrectly been marked as spam. In this instance, please resubmit your your comment using a different email address.
